DANDA YATRA FESTIVAL TOUR ( MAR/APR)

Danda Nacha Or Danda Nata or Danda Jatra is one of the most significant conventional
move celebrations composed in various pieces of South Odisha and especially in the
Ganjam District, the heartland of antiquated Kalinga Empire. The Danda Nata celebration
is being held in the period of Chaitra consistently. It is an old celebration of the
Kalinga realm and still alive in and around the old Kalinga capital Sampa/Samapa i.e
present-day Ganjam District. The Participants of Danda are called Danduas (otherwise
called Bhoktas) and they supplicate Goddesses Kali and Shiva during this 13-, 18-or 21-
day Danda period. Danda starts on a favorable day before the Chaitra Sankranti or Meru
Parba with customary love and fasting. The all-out number of days for the celebration is
13, 18, or 21 days. Just male people partake in this celebration. The members are known
as the ' Bhoktas&#39. All the ' Bhoktas' or '
Danduas' lead a devout life for every one of nowadays during the celebration and
they abstain from eating meat, fish or living together during this period.
It is accepted that the current day Danda Nata is a piece of the old Chaitra Yatra celebrations being
-commended each year at Taratarini Shakti/Tantra Peetha. The Kalinga Emperors composed
this Chaitra celebration for their Ista Devi, Taratarini.Visiting this festival or witnessing
the amazing activity of Dandua, the devotees during this festival really magical and astonishing.

DAY01: ARRIVAL AT BHUBANESWAR & CITY TOUR. O/N

Reception upon arrival at Bhubaneswar (The Capital of Odisha ) and Transfer to hotel.
Later Visit Udaygiri & Khandagiri Caves of 2 nd Cen BC. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY02: BHUBANESWAR

Visit famous Temples of Bhubaneswar like Parasurameswar Temple (7th Cen AD),
Mukteswar Temple (9th Cen AD), Rajarani Temple ( 11 th Cen AD) and Bramheswar
Temple ( 11 th Cen AD). Later Visit Odisha State Museum and Ashokan Rock Edicts at
Dhauli. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY03: BHUBANESWAR-NUAPATNA-SADEIBARINI-DHENKANAL

Morning proceed to visit Famous Textile Village Nuapatna and Dokra metal casting
Village. After check-in Hotel at Dhenkanal, Visit Mahima Monastery at Joranda with
evening prayer of Monks.

DAY04: DHENKANAL-CUTTACK-KONARK/PURI

Morning proceed to Cuttack and visit this 1000 years old city with Barabati Fort and
Maritime Museum. Later proceed to Konark. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY05: KONARK-PURI

Early Morning visit Sun Rise on Chandrabhaga Beach and After Breakfast visit World
Heritage Site Sun Temple of Konark. Proceed to Puri and visit Surroundings of Lord
Jagannath Temple of Puri (Non-Hindus entry not allowed) and Artisan Village Nayakpatna
famous for Palm leaf itching works and Tassar Silk Hand paintings. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY06: PURI-MANAGLAJODI AT CHILIKA –GOPALPUR

Morning proceed to visit Mangalajodi at Chilika. Explore this part of the Lake with Indian
and Migratory birds. Later proceed to Gopalpur. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY07: GOPALPUR ON SEA

Full day visit Danda Yatra around Ganjam. Overnight.

DAY09: GOPALPUR ON SEA –PHULBANI

Proceed to Phulbani. Visit Danda Yatra around. Overnight

DAY10: PHULBANI-BHUBANESWAR

Proceed to Bhubaneswar enroute visiting Danda Yatra around Nayagarh. Overnight.

DAY11: DEPARTURE

Departure Transfer to Bhubaneswar airport to board the flight for onards journey.
